Manbir S. Sandhu, Esq. President

Mr. Sandhu has extensive Creditors Rights legal experience. Mr. Sandhu obtained a Bachelors Degree from the University of Akron in 1995. He graduated from The Thomas Cooley Law School in 2000. Mr. Sandhu concentrates in the area of Foreclosure, Bankruptcy and Evictions

Mr. Sandhu is the founder of the Firm that started in 2006. He is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and The Cleveland Bar Association. Mr. Sandhu has been designated as Outside Counsel to the State of Ohio Attorney General for revenue recovery services.

Suzanne M. Godenswager, Esq.

Ms. Godenswager concentrates in the area of Litigation with special concentration in the area of contested foreclosures.

Ms. Godenswager received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Toledo, College of Law and was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 2010. Prior to earning her JD, she earned her undergraduate degree from John Carroll University.

David T. Brady, Esq.

Mr. Brady joined the firm in March 2013 and focuses his practice on representation of mortgage lenders and servicers, as well as real property tax certificate holders, and in foreclosure litigation throughout the State of Ohio.  Mr. Brady has extensive experience handling litigation matters on behalf of businesses, creditors and title insurance underwriters and agents, and previously served as a Magistrate in the Foreclosure Division of the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas.  Mr. Brady is licensed to practice before the U.S. District Courts and U.S. Bankruptcy Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio.

Mr. Brady obtained his Juris Doctorate in 2000 from the Case Western Reserve University School of Law in Cleveland, OH, and is a 1997 graduate of the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA. Mr. Brady currently resides in University Heights, OH with his family.

Austin B. Barnes III, Esq.

Mr. Barnes received both his Juris Doctor and Master of Taxation degrees from the University of Akron. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in finance from Ohio University where he graduated summa cum laude. Mr. Barnes has been a licensed attorney in the state of Ohio since May 1991. He joined Sandhu Law Group in 2015 as an attorney focusing on tax lien and mortgage foreclosures, along with bankruptcy, board of revision cases, and evictions. Prior to joining Sandhu Law Group, Mr. Barnes was employed by Morris|Schneider|Wittstadt in 2008 through 2015 as an attorney with the firm`s National Default practice. Mr. Barnes is a member of the State Bar of Ohio, the American Bar Association, and the Akron Bar Association.

Mr. Barnes has been a guest speaker for the National Tax Lien Association in 2003, 2012, and 2022. Mr. Barnes has served as Chairman of the Board and Secretary for the Order of AHEPA Lodge #63, and served as its President 2006-2008 and has been a member since 1996. Mr. Barnes has also been a member of the Fraternal Oder of Police Associates since 1996. Mr. Barnes presently serves on the Cleveland Shakespeare Festival Board of Directors and has been a member since 2004. Additionally, Mr. Barnes has served as Assistant Finance Director to St. Andrew Eastern Orthodox Church 2015 and 2016. From 2017-2023, Mr. Barnes has served as President to the St. Andrew Eastern Orthodox Church, and in 2023 was elected to the parish council as a board member.

Adrienne S. Foster, Esq.

Ms. Foster focuses her practice on representation of real estate tax certificate holders and mortgage lenders in foreclosure throughout the State of Ohio, as well as evictions and bankruptcy.  Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Foster had also represented borrowers in foreclosure and bankruptcy matters, she also worked at a bank on servicing matters in foreclosure, taught paralegal courses part time at Lakeland Community College and previously served as a Magistrate in the Foreclosure Division of the Lake County Court of Common Pleas.  Ms. Foster is licensed to practice in Ohio, Florida, Kentucky, as well as before the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Ohio and the United States Supreme Court. 

Mr. Foster obtained her Juris Doctorate in the year 2001 from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale Florida and is a 1997 graduate of Kent State University with a B.A. in English. Ms. Foster currently resides on the east side of Cleveland with her husband.

Heather Melena, Esq.

Ms. Melena Joined the firm in January 2024.  She received her Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Akron, College of Law and was admitted to the Ohio Bar in November 2023.

She is dedicated to doing pro bono work and received the Supreme Court of Ohio and Ohio Access to Justice Pro Bono Award. Before attending the University of Akron for law school, she received her undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University with a B.A. in International Studies, and Criminology.

Douglas Haman, Esq., Of Counsel

Mr. Haman graduated from Miami University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science in Business and earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Cincinnati College of Law in 1998. Mr. Haman’s practice areas include real estate, creditor’s rights, foreclosure, eviction, and other statutory proceedings.

Mr. Haman is licensed to practice in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana, as well as before the United States Districts Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio, the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky, and the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.

Sara Thorp, Esq., Of Counsel

Ms. Thorp is a dedicated Attorney at Law practicing in the State of Ohio, specializing in real estate law. She brings extensive expertise in real property transactions, title insurance, document review, and ensuring seamless closings. She enjoys working closely with her clients, so they have a better understanding of contract law and the legal implications involved with such transactions. Communication with her clients is always of utmost importance and a priority. Previously, she worked for a high-profile oil and gas company, preparing title opinions based on mineral rights and complex title searches, giving her a niche in the real estate community.
